Equipping the Saints

Palmyra Baptist is led by a board of elders. These men are elected by the congregation and ordained to church office. We believe that those called to lead a local church are not tasked with “doing all the ministry,” but with helping every member of the body of Christ to use their spiritual gifts for ministry.

"And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."

    Eph 4:11-13

  • Andrew Dyer, Pastor/Preaching Elder

Andrew was born and raised in Wichita, KS. He joined Palmyra Baptist Church, the lifelong church of his wife, over 20 years ago. He and his wife, Holly, were married in 2002 and have four children: Zeke, Eli, Eden, and Abby. Andrew first heard the Gospel and received Christ as his Savior at the age of nine. Those early seeds of faith continued to grow and deepen through his years at Palmyra. While leading the youth group, God began to stir in him a desire to preach. That calling became clear, and he was installed as pastor in March of 2018.

He is pursuing his M.Div at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with an emphasis in biblical counseling (ACBC).

A foundational verse for his pastoral ministry can be found in Colossians 1:28–29:

"[Christ] we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me."
