At Palmyra Baptist Church, we equip believers to joyfully live holy lives, to serve one another, and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, all to the glory of God. We are committed to two great priorities that have inspired the church for 2,000 years: a high view of God, and a high view of Scripture. If you want to study God's Word seriously, and enjoy fellowship in a thriving Christian community, you've come to the right place.

Sunday School 10:00am
Worship Service 11:00am
We hope you'll join us soon on a Sunday morning! We know it can be awkward coming to a new place for the first time, so here's a little more about what you can expect.
Greeters
As you walk through the front doors, you will meet a friendly greeter ready to assist you. They will welcome you to Palmyra and answer any questions you might have. They can help you find out where to take your children and help you choose what adult class to attend. Please help us get to know you so that we can serve you.
Sunday School
We have Sunday school classes for all ages. Ask one of the greeters at the door or an usher to direct you where to drop your children off.
About Our Service
Our worship service is usually 60 minutes with about half of that being the sermon. Our sermons are all intended to take us deeper into the gospel. We preach and teach through books of the Bible with an occasional topical series mixed in. All of Scripture is God-breathed and useful, so we do not shrink back from declaring the whole counsel of God. The new life we live is motivated by the gospel. The climax of our celebration of the gospel is in the Lord’s Supper, which we observe on the 1st Sunday of each month.
We are a community of people who delight in God’s grace. When you visit us, we trust you will find us to be:
• A joyful church. God has done great things for us, and we are glad! Because we trust in Christ who died and rose again to save us from God’s just wrath for our sins, we now rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.
• A serious church. Scripture says to worship with reverence and awe, and the gospel makes this possible. We take the worship of God seriously, with careful attention given to the reading and preaching of Scripture, and the expression of our dependence on the Holy Spirit through prayer.
• A loving church family. God’s love has been lavished on us in Jesus Christ, and through His Holy Spirit, God’s love is poured out in our hearts toward one another. We want you to experience the love of Christ among us, so welcome! Come as you are.
• A church that is centered on the gospel. Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead so that we can be justified (declared righteous) in the presence of a holy God. This is the gospel. As a church, we will never move on from this glorious gospel - only into a deeper and more profound understanding of it.
You will find a mix of music styles, reflective of the unity of the church body. There could be hymns, spiritual songs, psalms, simple accompaniment, or congregational singing on any given Sunday. Every week is a little different. We do not pick our songs according to age or style, but according to content, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. We strive to bring out treasures, old and new. There will probably be something you love and something you don't, but we're a family and we want to be together. The one thing you'll always find is a desire to worship God, to declare his gospel, and to bring him glory.
The liturgical structure of our worship service walks us through the whole of the Gospel pattern every Sunday morning, just as we see modeled in both the Old and New Testament.
About the Sermons
We value expository preaching, which simply means the point of any particular text is the point of the sermon. We have an unwavering commitment to preach what we find in the Bible. We usually do this by preaching through books of the Bible. God has chosen to reveal himself to his people through his Word so we want to make sure people are hearing God's Word. Through this weekly exposure to the Word we believe the gospel will grow deep in us, shape us, and through us go wide to others.
What to Wear
You'll see some people dressed formally in suits and dresses and others more casually in jeans. Most people are probably somewhere in the middle. Either way you'll be welcome, so come dressed however you feel comfortable.
Your Kids Matter
Your kids are very important to us! We believe children are a blessing and it is important to have your children worship with you. If you need to step out, we have a cry room at the back for babies and toddlers or a nursery where you can still listen and watch the service.
